Thank You from the Headteacher
Firstly I would like to start by thanking all of our parents for the wonderful support and comments that our teachers and staff has received this week. I have to admit, this was not how I envisaged my first five days at Lakeview School, but the welcome I have received has ensured that I already know what it means to be part of the wonderful Lakeview family.
Friday 8th January 2021
Following the Government announcement to close schools due to a national lockdown, we know how difficult it has been for families and it is appreciated that, where possible, children have remained at home with their families in order to ensure that they are safe.
As teachers, we understand that this comes with the added challenges of home schooling and managing personal employment responsibilities in addition to being a parent.
For those children who have returned to school – they have been excited, engaged and ready for learning. On a personal level, it has been delightful to meet some of our Lakeview family in person. It is a pity I will have to wait a little while longer to meet the whole community.
For children who have been learning on-line, it has been wonderful to see how many children have been completing their work and the quality of the work completed has been of an excellent standard. I know that all teachers have awarded a significant number of house points in recognition of the in school and on-line learning. Children and teachers alike have also enjoyed catching up on the ‘Daily Live’ sessions.
Over the coming weeks, I will also be joining the class Daily Live sessions and class assemblies in order to introduce myself and meet the children.
Once again, I would like to thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you all soon.
