    Remote Learning

    In order to ensure that learning continues, irrespective of lockdown or self-isolation, we have developed the following plan, which will be applied in the following instances:

    1.    An individual is self-isolating because of a positive test within the household;

    2.    A group of children are self-isolating because of a case of coronavirus in the bubble OR the school is in lock-down;

    3.    A member of staff is unwell and unable to attend school;

    Within our remote learning plans, teachers have set appropriate work for each child, which is closely aligned to our current curriculum. All of the sites listed in the plans are free, however you may need to register. Children will remain in contact with their class teacher through the use of Purple Mash and the class email account. These will be used across Years 1 to 6 for interaction, assessment and feedback. Children who are vulnerable or are in need of access to a device will be supported by the school and this may include providing paper-based home learning packs.

    Children are expected to engage fully with home learning and parents/carers are expected to ensure that children complete their work daily. However, if a child is ill they should not be expected to engage in home learning. If you are experiencing difficulties completing the work, please contact the class teacher.

    We have sent home logins and passwords for the following platforms:

    • - Purple Mash (back of planner/Reading Journal)
    • - TT Rockstars (back of planner/Reading Journal)
    • - Letterjoin (Parentmail)
    • - Phonics Play (Parentmail)
    •

    Please find a suggested timetable of how Home Learning can be organised for your child at home in the tab on the right-hand side.

    Weekly plans for Years 1 - 6 are attached below and a range of activities for the children in Early Years can be found in the appropriate folder on the right-hand side. If you begin remote learning mid-week, you can choose to start from that day’s lessons or alternatively start from the Monday and work systematically through the weekly plan.

    If you have any questions regarding remote learning, please email your child's class account using their class name and 2020.  For example - frogs2020@lakeviewschool.co.uk.
