    Transition

    Dear parents/carers

The school year is rapidly coming to an end, albeit not in the way that any of us would have foreseen and preparations are being made for the start of the next academic year and we are really looking forward to welcoming all of our children back, in September.

We understand that a successful transition is essential for children, parents and staff. Change is a normal part of life and can provide opportunities for children to develop their resilience whilst being in a safe environment. As always, we will prioritise the children’s well-being as well as delivering the recovery curriculum. This is as important for us in school as it is for you all at home and we understand that every child is different.

We know that for some children and families, returning to school may increase anxiety around separation. We are working hard to ensure that these changes are carefully managed and that the correct support is in place. We aim for the return to school to be a positive and exciting time for all.

Due to COVID-19 we have adapted our transition process. We have outlined the main actions below.

    1. We would like to offer the children the opportunity to meet their new class teacher and have the chance to say goodbye to their current teacher in order to gain closure.  We have arranged for them to participate in some activities on the school field for which they will be socially distanced. These activities are weather dependent and we will contact you on the day, if we need to cancel. If your child is currently not in school and you would like them to attend, please see the dates and times outlined below. Attendance is optional for the children who are currently not in school.
