Children and adults are at the heart of our school; our school is at the heart of our community.

Welcome Back - Autumn term 2022

Dear parents/carers

The first week back has been eventful, and with children returning on a Monday this year, it has been super to spend a full five days getting to know our new classes and practise new routines.

There is a buzz around school and children are particularly enjoying being able to play on the newly laid artificial grass which is now outside every teaching block.  Also, all children now have access to the MUGA which is a fantastic resource for us to use.

After a fantastic first four days, we ended the week with the sad news of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.  As part of our celebration assembly, we started with a reflection of the Queen’s life.  It was also wonderful to share a letter from the Queen, which Cygnets received on Tuesday, after writing to her during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.  The children were impeccably behaved and displayed the behaviours we  have introduced.  We ended this, with a celebration of our wonderful Stars of the Week and our Values Champions.  A further improvement this year, is that all children  receive a reward certificate; they will continue to be invited to Hot Chocolate Friday – the best bit as we have a chat, hot chocolate and cookies!

We also share our class attendance winners; week one winners are Butterflies with 100% attendance.

This term our value is Responsibility, however children can be chosen as Values Champion for demonstrating any of our school values:

Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, Aspiration, Excellence, Perseverance

Thank you for your support in ensuring the children have returned to school refreshed and ready for learning.  We look forward to seeing you in school over the coming months to attend the many events we have planned.
